So fresh, so clean

Are you like me? I like to be in control of things as much as I can. I take pride in being able to plan and know what is to come next, being buttoned up, “so fresh & so clean clean”. But let’s be real, sis; life, much like your career, isn’t always a neatly scripted performance.

Those in marketing know that not one thing will always work the same and evolving is a must! We are constantly thinking of a new idea or concept. There’s always new technology coming to the market. Competition trying to take market share. Figuring out how to best engage with our ever changing audiences and be there for them when they are ready to make a purchase, plus more. It’s a wild ride! But here’s the tea—how you ride the waves of change makes all the difference.

If you read my blog post, ‘I Got A 50%+ Pay Increase!’ I spilled the beans on how being open to change and taking risks helped me advance and level up my income and career. I changed jobs three times in two years, which seemed like a lot at the time but years later and looking back, it ended up not being as problematic as I thought. I’ve had leaders leave at times when I least expected, making me question what’s next? Do I stay or do I go? I’ve had to quickly learn new platforms with little to no formal training to launch efforts on the fly. All while becoming a mom, making my first home purchase, recovering from surgeries, working to improve my mental and physical health, and of course working!

But change is good and necessary. It keeps things fresh and at times is exhilarating. So keep your head held high and embrace change my friend with a positive attitude. Doing so will ease your stress about the situation and allow you to think clearly. From there, you will start to look at change as a good thing and seek it out more.

Speaking of change, are you looking for a new career or to learn more about a field that keeps things fresh? My blog post, ‘Lifecycle Marketing? Run That Back,’ give it a read; it might be the change you’ve been waiting for!
