Once you’ve familiarized yourself with Email Marketing, look for an internship or reach out to a non-profit, foundation, or small business owner to see if you can volunteer your time assisting with email or SMS marketing efforts to help you gain real-life experience. You can also start your own blog and set up an email subscription to then begin to send emails to your subscribers (hint to self). Be sure to document your efforts and experience so you can use them to visually display your abilities.
