Humming, Who’s That Girl by Eve while I write this! Hey, now’s a good time to introduce myself. I’m Marissa. I grew up dancing (ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance) and I played the violin. I believe doing both of those helped ground me and developed my abilities to stick with something for a long time. I danced from the time I was 7 until I graduated high school. And I had a part-time job during some of this time. The discipline it took to go to dance classes, practices and performances, plus work, I know has helped me in my career and life today. Let’s just say I thrive in balancing a lot at one time!

Fast forward to today, I’m a college graduate, a mom of two little girls and I work in digital marketing. I have over 10 years of experience in lifecycle marketing and have worked for several e-commerce companies. What is lifecycle marketing? I thought you’d never ask! After a quick Google search: “Lifecycle marketing is a strategy designed to move buyers through the different stages in the buying process, from initial awareness and education to consideration and purchase. It involves creating content that resonates with prospects at each stage of their journey, helping them move closer to making a decision.*” But it doesn’t stop when a buyer makes a purchase. Lifecycle marketing continues and seeks to turn a one-time buyer into a repeat and loyal customer who then goes on to advocate and tell others about a company and its products.

I’m sharing so much about lifecycle marketing because it’s an area of marketing that most businesses can’t do without. It can pay well (senior manager levels start at $80k+) and can often be a remote role. Not many of us know this. 👀  It’s also an area I will dive deeper into on my blog as you can start off with relatively little experience and learn as you go. Plus, life basically is a lifecycle. We are kids, go to school, begin a career, change jobs, travel, marry and have kids if we want to, work hard, spend time on hobbies, retire, spend time with grandkids, etc. And during these stages (order varies), we make decisions and choices that ultimately impact our lives. So I’ll be sharing some of my life experiences, tips and recommendations too!

I’d love for you to stick around with me and let me share some of my world (personal and professional), what I’m calling Up Close & Polished.

Best, Marissa
